Pros and Cons

(Andrew G., 2020)

Overall: Overall Schoology is going to allow for better implementation of curriculum as an online and hybrid option during this COVID19 pandemic.

Pros: Schoology integrates seemlessly into our district as we already use Powerschool so it will make it an easy transition for teachers into online learning.

Cons: The interface and mobile app could use an interface update to make it a little more friendly and easy to navigate.

Alternatives Considered: Roya and Blackboard Collaborate

Reasons for Choosing Schoology: Overall we ended up going with Schoology because of the Powerschool integration. When schools shut down it was a hard transition for many teachers, so we are hoping the familiarity with other products will make the use easier going forward.

(Santino M., 2022)

Pros: Schoology makes it easy to create, share and manage classroom activities. This software is awesome for remote learning and has been a part of the education system even before online teaching/learning rose to prominence. The platform has many great features, the assessment creation option as well as a calendar for keeping students updated are very practical tools. The user interface is pretty easy to get a hang of and students find it very easy to navigate the space.

Cons: The platform itself does not have many flaws however the mobile version does tend to crash occasionally even during assessments.
